YOUR ITINERARY

Morning:

07:00 – 08:00:

Meet & Greet. Our registered tourist guide will collect you and your party at your hotel or place of residence (within 50km of The City centre).

08:00 – 09:00:

Your day will start with a ride on the Table Mountain Aerial Cableway (ticket price included). From the top of the mountain, you’ll have breathtaking views of the city, harbour, and surrounding mountains while your guide points out significant historical, cultural, and environmental landmarks.

09:00 – 12:00:

Once you’re at the top, we’ll take some time to explore and soak up the views. Your guide will take you on a short hike along one of the many viewpoint trails, such as Maclear’s Beacon or the Twelve Apostles. Along the way, you’ll learn about the local fauna and flora, such as the endemic fynbos and protea plants and the Dassies (Rock Hyrax) that abound on Table Mountain.

12:00 – 13:00:

After your hike, we’ll take the cable car back down and drive to the V&A Waterfront.

Afternoon:

13:00 – 14:30

You’ll have lunch at Ginja On the Waterfront Pierhead restaurant. The set-menu has something for everyone, from sustainably harvested fish, meat, and vegetarian mains to desserts. Lunch with non-alcoholic beverages is included in the tour price but excludes gratuities for the waitrons.

SET MENU OPTIONS:

MAINS: Fish & chips or Angus Beef Burger or Chicken Caesar Burger or Veggie Burger.

DESSERTS: Creme Brulee or Yogurt Panna Cotta or Vegan Brownie.

BEVERAGES: Sparkling or Still mineral water for the table plus Tea or Espresso Coffee.

14:30 – 15:00:

After lunch, we’ll visit the Robben Island Museum at the V&A Waterfront ferry terminal. *Weather permitting, we’ll then depart on a ferry to Robben Island, where Nelson Mandela was imprisoned for 18 years. The island is now a UNESCO World Heritage Site and a must-see for any visitor to Cape Town. Along the way, your guide will provide interesting information on marine biodiversity issues, such as the kelp forests, seals, and great white sharks that abound in this part of the Atlantic Ocean.

*In the event that the Robben Island ferry cannot launch due to the weather, this part of the tour may be changed to either a tour of the Two Oceans Aquarium or a tour of the Zeitz Museum of Contemporary Art Africa.

15:00 – 18:00:

You will disembark at Murray’s Bay Harbour situated on the east coast of the Island and take a short walk to buses that will transport you to all the historical sites around the Island. While your personal guide will accompany you onboard the bus, the prison tour will be conducted by a Robben Island Tour Guide. This guide is fully conversant and knowledgeable about the Island’s multi-layered 500-year-old history. The six-point tour route includes the graveyard of people who died from leprosy, the Lime Quarry, Robert Sobukwe’s house, the Bluestone quarry, the army and navy bunkers and the Maximum Security Prison where thousands of South Africa’s freedom fighters were incarcerated for years. The tour culminates with a viewing of Nelson Mandela’s cell.

18:00 – 19:00:

Return via ferry to the V&A Waterfront and be chauffeured by your guide to your hotel or place of residence. The tour ends at 7:00 pm.
